Directed and mentored a team of four designers and assistants. Established a clear matrix of responsibilities and process within the team. Clarified goals and action plans to allow each designer to measure their work in order to achieve the highest standards as well as grow individually within the corporation while continuing to allow them to find their distinctive style as a designer.
Developed, piloted and managed the new position of “design operations” within our team. Established and wrote responsibilities and process.
Partnered with individual designers to plan, assort and review their lines preparing them for seasonal presentations.
Partnered with cross functional teams, Merchant, CAD, Fabric R&D, Technical Design, and Product Development to ensure business goals and design visions were maintained.
Developed and built new market vendor relationships, as needed, for strategic use within categories.
Traveled for competitive sample shopping throughout the US, Europe and Asia for inspiration.

Traveled to work with international partners in Hong Kong, China and India to develop new products, source fabrics, and visit our factory base to build strong relationships.

Managed a team of four assistant designers; Set clear goals and expectations while mentoring and challenging them on a daily basis.
Designer, Wear to Work separates, shirts, and blouses. Reinvigorated both the blouse and the urban pant business with new fabrics and styling. Consistently populated weekly sales top 50.
Designer, Outerwear. Built new vendor relationships exploring new opportunities to promote and drive business. Fall ’09 and ’10 outerwear sales exceeded plan.
Partnered with cross functional teams, Merchant, CAD, Fabric R&D, Technical Design, and Product Development to ensure business goals and design visions were maintained.
Traveled and worked directly with international partners in Hong Kong, China and India to develop new products, fabrics, and embellishment techniques.

1981-1991


Managed the design and sample room in Los Angeles. Produced three couture collections per year. 
Worked directly with celebrity clients and outside designers.
Managed a staff of 30; pattern-makers, stitchers, milliners, and design assistants.
Oversaw all fittings.
